TYPICAL BSRIA TEST
RESULT
These diagrams
show the results of one of the many BSRIA tests carried
out over a four-month period. A 9m x 6m full working mock
up
of a building was constructed at BSRIA’s Microclimate
facility. It had a 4.5m perimeter depth and 6m internal
zone. 100% Low E glass was used to simulate the projected
Part
L2 gain targets and the test was carried out at full
external summer and winter design conditions.
The yellow band represents
24°C and is at 1.8m.
The Perimeter zone was 130 watts/sq
m and internal zone 50 watts/sq m, equating to an average
of 71 watts/sq m.
The result showed that the FlexSys system
can compete with 4 pipe fan coil systems and does not require
any secondary
cooling systems at the perimeter to cope with peak summer loads.
Other
tests carried out included:
- Summer part-load cooling test
- Full winter heating test
- Full MIT micro grille test
- Part load MIT micro grille test
